March 18-20 : Matthieu Bachelin presented « The ‘p’tit truc en plus …)» at the Court-circuit trade fair

Katerina Geislerova and Solenne Auvret also exhibited their brands.

Mathieu Bachelin graduated from Lisaa in 1995

- What were the steps in your professional career ?

For four years, I took care of the Japanese licenses for accessories and sport products. Then I worked on men’s collections for the Italian licenses. Then, a year ago, I created my own brand : « THE (p’tit truc en plus …) »

- Tell us about « THE (p’tit trus en plus …) »

I created this brand to respond to the need of friends who have a shoe collection : SKG workshop. Our designs are complementary, my bags are conceived to work with their shoes. They are simple, functional, one-of-a-kind pieces.

- In which market are you positioned ? ?

I wanted a range which wasn’t too expensive : using simple materials and having a shorter manufacturing time to help reduce cost. Basically this means a mono-product that I work in different colors and materials. Starting this past winter, I added two new lines.

- Why did you choose the accessories field ?

Accessories are a lot easier to sell. I take care of the whole chain of fabrication from conception to manufacturing and sales.

In the future, I am thinking of developing a full handbag range which will work with SKG shoes.

- What advice would you give to Lisaa students ?

I think it is important to visit sales points, check out the market and know what works. Distribute your own products, organize your sales circuits and contact shops yourself. Selling a product is difficult but, when one is well-positioned, you can succeed.
