WEBSITE DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT AND MOTION DESIGN

Optional complementary postgraduate course

Open to graduates of LISAA's Graphic Design course as well as accepted graduates from other schools, the postgraduate "Website Design and Management and Motion Design" course is a complementary course which prepares students for the latest TV and web based visual communication careers.

The 4 semesters of a traditional University Masters degree brought together in one 16 month study period.

- First phase : Familiarisation with Web 2.0 and Motion Graphics techniques and challenges.

- Second phase : The students rise to the challenges laid before them by projects with real clients.

- Third phase : Work experience where their newfound knowledge is put into practice.

- Fourth phase : Appraisal of skills, professional integration.

Motion graphics

LISAA's students have at their disposal a fully equipped studio. They work on the specific rhythms of animated narration. They are taught the various filming, light and sound management techniques. Lastly they edit their creations using Final Cut in order to end up with perfectly executed short films. LISAA's training explores two complementary paths: artistic video experimentation and reporting.

Motion Design

Using After Effects software, LISAA's students explore the various aspects of post-production: calibration, managing layers, vector retouching, compositing, sound animations, editing etc. Uses can be varied and range from conceptual and visual exploration to online videos via opening credits and DVD interfaces.

Internet development

Website creation and publishing requires being able to master a number of computer skills. LISAA's students learn markup languages (html/ css) using Dreamweaver software. They are introduced to jQuery and the creation and skinning of websites that are administrable in BackOffice using Spip.

Lastly, they tackle dynamic programming languages using PHP/Mysql which allows them to establish powerful interactive applications. Used to working on projects, LISAA's students design websites from A to Z: target audience, graphic design, integration, activation, advertising and search engine referencing.

Animation / Flash

Tightly linked to both animation and web applications, Flash software is capable of many things: website advertising banners, parts of or whole websites, animation...

As much as learning technical knowhow, this lesson is also the perfect opportunity for LISAA's students to learn the specifics of motion graphics. This is backed up by an introduction to Actionscript, which opens up immense possibilities for internet interactivity.

Internet environment

LISAA's students don't just do what's asked of them, they're fully conscious of internet's latest challenges and features. They study the varying challenges of art direction for different websites by applying semiotics and sociology.

They look into the trends and prospects of Web 2.0. Lastly, they are trained in the various tools which will allow them to develop long term projects: monitoring, referencing, emailing, etc.
