The JHON project

A contemporary art publication mixing web and paper supports.

Simon de la Porte, a former Lisaa student, associated in 2003 with Bori Son to create the JHON project. His objective : publish and publicize artists from all countries who have not yet been recognized by the system.

For financial reasons, the project’s first step was the web site : a portfolio to telecharge in pdf and update every two months. Each time, carte blanche is given to illustrators, photographers, artists … Quickly, the JHON project turned into a paper edition. Though handmade at first, the art books evolved, and today are done by a printer.

After three years, the balance sheet of the JHON project is extremely positive : 4 books have been published, numerous exhibitions have been held and fifteen portfolios are available for telecharging. But the JHON project doesn’t stop there : Bory and Simon are working on a review to come out in September 2006 which will complement the art book collection.
