Complementary, optional third cycle
Mode Stylisme Textile

Mode Stylisme Textile International Fashion Production Manager

Open to graduates of Lisaa’s Fashion or Textile Design programs or graduates from other schools after presentation of a portfolio, the third cycle of « International Fashion Production Manager» is a complementary training axed on problems and jobs in fashion production.

• A response to current fashion industry needs

Today, fashion industry employment agencies seek candidates capable of mastering both product design as well as collection manufacturing.

Lisaa students learn to cooperate with French and international manufacturers regarding their specific needs and the delivery times which determine a product’s retail price (ex : denim from Brazil, embroidery from India, clothing manufactured in China, high-end ready-to-wear from Turkey and North Africa …).

Our students learn to master « product » competence : to recognize quality, appreciate market trends, understand and anticipate manufacturing and production costs following a calender, all based on product quantities ranging from « made-to-order» to « mass market ».

• 4 semesters of a traditional, university Masters program are united in a single, 16-month study cycle.

- First phase :Students alternate in two workshops. Each project (clothing, home textiles and accessories) is developed in terms of a market and specific sector (children, junior, women, men and home furnishings).
• Limited series (luxury) : one-of-a-kind pieces and small series, 1 to 10 pieces, handmade, handcrafted, made-to-order.
• Small series (designers-craftsmen) : limited series, 10 to 150 pieces, short-term deliveries (2 to 3 weeks)

- Second phase : Lisaa students adapt « small series » methods on a broader, more industrial scale. Sourcing problems become international.
• Mid-size series (mid-priced Ready-to-Wear) : 150 to 10,000 pieces, long-term deliveries (1 to 3 months)
• Large series (mass market) : 10,000 to 100,000 pieces, long-term delivery (3 months or more)

- Third phase : Internship and application of acquired techniques.

- Fourth phase : Evaluation of skills, professional insertion.

• Intensive English

For each phase of the 3rd cycle, Lisaa students evolve in an international, competitive environment. A mastery of English imposes itself as an obligatory, transversal skill : students must be capable of presenting and explaining projects and negotiating in English.
