Leroy Merlin launched a contest for art, architecture and design school students. The theme was : « One day, habitations will mutate as fast as their inhabitants ».
The objective was to reflect on relationships between a living individual and an inert dwelling, an ephemeral, changing human being and a solid, long-lasting building. The accent was on creativity and innovation.
A first prize was 2500 euros
Véronique Cotrel created « Ergo Corner », an in-store area for an ergonomy and layout specialist where clients can create and test their « life-sized » projects. With the specialist, the client reproduces a room’s actual dimensions and perfects the layout thanks to a system of magneticized cardboard pieces (representing closets, furniture, appliances …).
With the specialist, he can then do a « made-to-order » estimate.
Véronique won first prize and a 2500 euro award.
Prizes were awarded June 27th at the Maison des Polytechnicians in Paris
